Our Founders
Kauai Chocolate Company was founded by Donald and Marlene Greer, a husband-and-wife team whose story is as distinctive as their chocolate. Before moving to Kauai, Donald worked as a NASA rocket scientist in California, known for his precision and analytical approach to complex projects. But his passion for chocolate—and a lifelong love for the Hawaiian islands—sparked a bold new adventure.
Seeking a slower pace and a creative outlet where science could meet art, the Greers relocated to Kauai and began experimenting with Belgian-style chocolate techniques. Donald brought meticulous attention to temperature control, texture, and structure; Marlene contributed the artistic eye and warmth that give each confection its personal touch.
Together, they transformed their shared passion into a world-class chocolate destination known for originality, craftsmanship, and the unmistakable essence of Kauai.
